The old trailer for my fixed gear bike documentary BÖIKZMÖIND was quite a few years old and was put together a long time before the film switched to being a documentary, it always grated me that people were perceiving the film as a one-dimensional sort of affair, when i knew it had so much more heart & soul behind it.
It was after being mentioned on The Guardian’s Bike Blog and the subsequent comments writing the film off as ‘just another fixie film’ that I knew an updated trailer had to be made!
Luckily, I knew that we had a great base for the trailer which is the first sequence in the film, ‘What is a fixed gear bike?’ that shows some great characters plus some cracking riding shots. I hooked up with my editing partner-in-crime Jonny ‘Makinov’ Clooney and we set about layering on and switching up that sequence to make it a bit special.
I’m really happy with the outcome, it better reflects the feel of the film, as the narrative that runs through it is so important. I hope you enjoy it too!
There’s screenings of the full film organised for all over the country and abroad too! If it isn’t coming to a city near you then just get in touch, so happy to help organise a screening all over the world!
